This 2020 art collage was inspired by spontaneity and the need to dream. I needed to play and express myself as an escape from overworking and being an “essential worker.” I didn’t have a break and I didn’t get to stay in like majority of the world. We also had to work on site and get a pay cut to pay for everyone else staying home in California. Now that brought a lot of charged emotions I needed to process. I’m happy that acting, play and fashion are my outlets for relief and a peace of mind.

🪷Fashionable energies of the feminine. 🌺

To just “be” will take you on a journey to decondition from the hustle and bustle of the world. If you don’t balance time to slow down… something will come and make you. And for me, I had a foot injury that slowed me down.

This avoidable, accidental injury taught me some spiritual principals:

It taught me that overworking does not pay off if you cannot have good health.

It taught me I was in survival mode and that I didn’t need to live out generational ways of working “to death.”

It taught me how much society pressures us to work hard and play hard…. Why not work to the amount of love and passion you have for something and play a bit more softly.

It taught me to enjoy my weight, as I couldn’t exercise to maintain or lose it.

It taught me to clear out old things in my immediate environment, like my clothes, and other objects around the house I no longer needed. I was able to pay attention to these objects and cleared out unnecessary things. I’m praying in the new now.

It taught me to ask for help and love on my friendships, and to seek forgiveness in some where I wasn’t much of a good friend.

It taught me to slow down and treat myself.

It taught me to be less critical.

It taught me to go back to the basics with spirituality, metaphysics, and making offerings to my ancestors.

It taught me I can live by grace and not by works all the time.

It was a brunch with divine purpose in mind. We learned about motivating and positioning yourself with Dr. Karen, and other panelists shared information on how to get grants for your business.

I got to help advocate for mental health and relationship wellness at the @illuminate_psychotherapy booth.

I connected with @79elementals and learned more about gemstone symbolism and learned about her health and healing business.

I stopped by a beauty booth where I made my own custom made bath salts.

And on top of all that, I won a grand prize from @pixibeauty @colleennicole26 !! You best believe I was hollering! 😂

All in all it was a good day ! Thank you for hosting @restoredevents !!

✴️ Entering My Voluptuous Women Era. Destroying the social constructs of what it means to gain weight.

We gain differently in different seasons… and no- this won’t be a post of how I’m on a journey to lose weight. I am accepting what is for now. No decision is fully needed but to rest and be mindful of how I talk to myself. As a therapist, I am here for my clients when they struggle with their thought patterns on body image. Perhaps this is a season for me to look deeper into mine and to find more acceptance from within.

This overworking season is temporary, there’s a goal in mind I need to reach to be fully licensed as a therapist in California. The road blocks and stressors are merely attempts for me to quit, but I know I cannot give up! I collected weight gain due to a physical injury a few months back. I was forced to slow down and not even walk. Now I am slowly building endurance to strengthen my foot by introducing more cardio to my health regiment. And Pilates at @lapilateslongbeach has always been a life savor for me to work on my body strength.
